    DHX Media - Vancouver is looking for a rock star Facilities Assistant - Runner to join our team.

    As the Facility Assistant - Runner, you will be the supporting backbone of both the corporate and production teams of our Vancouver Studios. We’re looking for an outgoing, enthusiastic team-player who is ready and willing to take on any challenge that a busy animation studio can throw at them!     *Please note that as this is an entry-level position, there is an expectation of a one year commitment. This position requires a full valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a reliable vehicle.

    Responsibilities

    You will get to work on...

    • MAINTAINING THE FACILITY
      • Assisting the Facilities Manager and team with the daily requests that come through the ticketing system—this could be anything from adjusting the ventilation system, helping someone rearrange their office, hanging artwork, moving crew workstations
      • Communicating clearly with the rest of the Facilities team when starting and finishing a task, and at any point along the way where assistance is needed
      • Always being observant and aware of any maintenance tasks that may not have been reported yet (fix leaks, tidy areas, repair furniture, etc)
    • PERFORMING GENERAL OFFICE TASKS
      • Covering Reception/Phone during your teammates’ lunch breaks, vacations, and sick days
      • Keeping kitchens and common areas tidy—this includes daily kitchen checks to unload/load dishwashers and clean up the counters
      • Assisting with shipping/receiving
      • Being available to help with any photocopying, scanning, filing, and other general admin duties as they arise
    • RUNNING ERRANDS
      • Ordering, picking up, and delivering lunches either back to the studio, or to off-site locations
      • Delivering correspondence between locations in the city
      • Running tapes to post production houses
      • Picking up supplies from Costco, Ikea, Home Depot, and other various vendors around town
      • Driving executives and clients to restaurants, airport, and hotels
      • Being available to work on projects and take care of tasks that arise at our second studio location (10 minutes down the road)
    • COMMUNICATING WELL
      • Working closely with the team to create balanced solutions to issues
      • Anticipating, communicating, and troubleshooting any creative or technical issues with assistance from the Facilities Manager
      • Readily modifying, responding to, and integrating change as instructed by the Facilities Manager
      • Recommending any team training needs to the Facilities Manager
      • Carrying out duties in a professional and positive manner
      • Being a positive and creative force on the team

    Qualifications

    You will be a great fit on our team if…

    • You own a reliable vehicle and have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (REQUIRED) (Mileage and partial insurance is reimbursed)
    • You are able to lift up to 50 pounds
    • You have a solid knowledge of Microsoft office Suite
    • You have previous experience in a production assistant, office, or facilities-related role (BONUS)
    • You are enthusiastic and organized
    • You have expert attention to detail and coordination skills
    • You are able to take direction, collaborate, and be a team player
    • You are able to work alone and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure
