    The Role:


    Reporting to the VP, Softlines, you will play a critical role in architecting DHX Media’s short and long term planning and execution of its category management for softlines. You will directly manage select existing partners, prospect and acquire new licensees in addition to working with Director of Retail and Partnerships to drive category initiatives.


    As the Manager, Softlines, you will have a seat at the executive table and influence how we execute on our strategic priority of expanding licensing leadership. Essentially you’ll be working on projects that really matter.

    You will get to work on:

    • Directly managing Peanuts Worldwide (PWW) licensees in the following categories: Accessories, apparel
    • Secure new licensees in designated categories tied to specific revenue goals and annual growth for the overall PWW domestic business.
    • Manage day to day business including all aspects of category management: financials,  contracts (new deals, amendments and renewals), account management and relationship building, product strategy, category and market analysis, trend forecasting and data for retail placement.
    • Work closely with Softlines VP for management of overall apparel program including fashion collaborations.
    • Oversee and coordinate content for Snoopy in Fashion Instagram account tied to category initiatives to support all softlines categories.
    • Work with dept. VP and Director to develop retail strategies for categories at mid-tier, mass, and specialty retail accounts. 


    You will be a great fit on our team if...


    • You possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the licensing industry working in a sales and/or brand management function pitching properties, securing deals, negotiating deal points and managing licensees; preferably in character or entertainment.
    • Have existing relationships and contacts with key players across softlines categories and retail relationships are a plus.
    • Are a otivated self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative, creativity and excellent work ethic.
    • You possess a solid understanding of ROI, market and revenue development, with P&L and budget management skills.
    • A flexible team player with ability to work collaboratively across the company.
    • Have strong organizational skills and ability to think strategically to complete tasks in a timely fashion.
    • Have strong attention to detail and a high level of administrative organization.
    • You have exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
    • You are a problem solver that acts decisively and demonstrates good judgement.
    • You are someone who thrives in a fast paced, changing environment that necessitates working on many different projects simultaneously.
    • Has a college degree, preferably in Business or related field.
    • You are proficient in MS Office.
    • You are comfortable travelling domestically for business
