    DHX Media – Vancouver is looking for an experienced Unity/Unreal Game Engine Developer to join our team!

     

    The role:

    As a Unity/Unreal Developer, you will join our R&D team to help advance technologies with game engines and episodic animation. The position is with our corporate pipeline group – we offer excellent benefits and an amazing work environment.

    Responsibilities

    You will get to: 

    • Work with Pipeline Producer and Supervisor to ensure tools and processes meet the global pipeline direction
    • Help develop and implement new production pipeline tools based on game engine technology
    • Design and develop core pipeline tools and processes to meet production needs
    • Create and update documentation explaining our processes and tools
    • Support and debug tools and processes to ensure stability and usability
    • Mentor other members of the pipeline and advanced technology teams
    • Actively participate in production-related meetings by offering thoughts and ideas
    • Be a positive and creative force on the team
    • Be proactive, forward thinking and collaborative with others

    Qualifications

    You will be a great fit on our team if… 

    • 3+ years of experience with Unity or Unreal is required
    • A degree in Computer Science or related field
    • An advanced knowledge of networking and performance issues that arise with automated tools
    • A working knowledge of C/C++, JScript or other object-oriented programming language
    • Experience with Git or other revision control system is required
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and communication skills
    • Experience with leading people and projects
    • A detail-oriented mindset with a strong ability to multitask

    Specific skills we’d love to see…

    • An understanding of the episodic production process, including modeling, texturing, animation, rendering, compositing and FX creation is a plus
    • Experience developing for Maya, Nuke, or Shotgun is a plus
    • Experience with Python/Qt is a plus
    • Knowledge of Agile Development Methodology (scrum) is a plus.
