    The Role

     

    This role will be reporting to the Digital Services Supervisor, Distribution. As a Transcode Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and organized movement of digital materials through the department as well as monitoring processes in our enterprise-level transcoders.

    Responsibilities

    You will get to:

     

    • Perform media management including the functional operations of the Media Asset Management system
    • Operate and optimize transcode systems such as Telestream Vantage, SAM Alchemist, & Imagine Communications Zenium
    • Assess files for their basic transcode needs
    • Organize and validate files
    • Quality Control of a/v files, ensuring technical specifications & quality expectations are met
    • Assign files for Quality Control to team members
    • Communicate project status with internal clients
    • Effectively communicate status with and between team members
    • Other duties as required

    Qualifications

    You will be a great fit on our team if you have…

    • Working knowledge of various Transcode systems and platforms
    • Knowledge of Media Asset Management systems and platforms
    • Experience in a quality-control environment providing high attention to detail and problem-solving skills
    • Post-Secondary education in Media or a related field
    • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail
    • Quick to grasp new concepts and technology
    • Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Good technical knowledge/aptitude
    • Effective multi-tasker and problem solver
    • Knowledge of audio/visual file formats an asset
