    Are you an experienced HR leader who has a broad background in most facets of human resources?

     

    Do you have a keen ability to examine HR processes and data and can determine how information flows to, from and within an HR team?

     

    Is your expertise built on a strong foundation of HR systems, time management and payroll experience?

     

    Reporting to the Director Global Talent Operations (Toronto) and working closely with the VP People (Vancouver Studio), you will play a critical role in enhancing the studio’s operational effectiveness. As the Director, Talent (HR) Operations, you will influence and contribute to meeting the human capital management needs of studio leadership and their employees.

    Responsibilities

    The Role

     

    • Develop a deep understanding of studio HR, time management, payroll and benefits practices and collaborate with the team members who administer these processes;
    • Examine HR processes and data and to determine how information flows to, from and within the HR team – both locally and nationally;
    • Look at things through the lens of understanding the needs of multiple business partners (line management, payroll/finance, other HR teams), with an eye to process improvement, generating solutions and creating an efficient HR operational framework;
    • Lead local HR initiatives and strategies while improving the administrative processes that support them;
    • In collaboration with the global talent team, assist in the continuing implementation and improvement of our HR system, UltiPro;
    • Partner with the Vancouver talent teams to deliver data and enabling tools to managers and employees;
    • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures including confidentiality and other regulatory bodies;
    • Assist in policy implementation and roll out of new processes to ensure smooth transition for employees.

     

    Qualifications

    You will be a great fit on our team if you have…

     

    • Been there, done that – with 10+ years of HR or Talent experience, ready to share your expertise and still open to learning and new experiences;
    • Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business, or other related function;
    • CPHR or equivalent designation is an asset;
    • Demonstrated orientation towards project management and process reengineering;
    • Strong background working with HR systems and time management applications. UltiPro experience is a major asset;
    • Experience with payroll and benefits administration;
    • Familiarity with job evaluation and banding;
    • Strong leadership skills, aptitude for analysis and problem solving, plus planning/execution and organizational skills.

    • Excellent communication skills – listening, written, and spoken. You understand how to collaborate across teams and how to optimize communication when working with people at all levels with varying styles. You know how to share your opinions clearly and thoughtfully with leaders and are comfortable doing so;
    • Experience developing and sustaining effective and cooperative working relationship with peers, managers, and other internal or external personnel critical to successful performance;
    • Skilled in change management and cultural awareness;
    • Roll-up-your sleeves approach, someone who is self-managing with great sense of humour;
    • Experience in a technology and creative driven environment;
    • Ability to approach situations with a process/systems perspective. We have a lot going on and can always be more effective and streamlined.  We need a solid foundation upon which to build our exciting programs and initiatives.
