    The Role

     

    Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Director, Financial Reporting will play a critical leadership role on the Finance team with an overall responsibility of the financial reporting process.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Review and preparation of consolidated financial statements and note disclosures
    • Review of consolidation of legal entities across all jurisdictions (Canada, US, Europe)
    • Review of quarterly financial results, including detailed P&L analytics
    • Preparation of working papers to support quarterly reviews and annual audits
    • Review and preparation of MD&A (Management Discussion and Analysis)
    • Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations to identify potential issues or risks and work with financial reporting team to resolve
    • Research new financial disclosure requirements and assess potential impacts
    • Assist with documentation and implementation of accounting policies and internal controls, establishing best practices for the finance team
    • Assist with system improvements and automation of financial reporting processes and reconciliations
    • Coordinate internal, external and statutory audits
    • Assist with ad hoc requests, special projects and corporate development initiatives

    Qualifications

     

    • An experienced firm-trained CPA-CA who possesses experience in preparing financial statements and note disclosures for a publicly traded company
    • Brings a minimum 7-10 years working experience in finance
    • An inspiring and engaging people leader who has led high performing teams
    • A roll-up-the-sleeve leader who is not above any task
    • Able to deliver objectives on tight deadlines
    • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptive to changing circumstances
    • Proactive and strategic leader who consistently looks for improvements
    • Experience with complex organizational and transactions structures preferred

     Specific skills we would love to see:

    • Familiarity with financial reporting systems (ex. Great Plains Dynamics, Hyperion, Management Reporter) an asset, but not required
