    DHX Media – Vancouver is looking for an experienced Production Coordinator (Animation) to join our team! 


    The role:


    We are looking for an adaptable team player who is incredibly organized, highly communicative, self-motivated and enthusiastic about joining a talented group of industry professionals working to create some of the best quality kids’ content in the business!


    You will get to...

    • Support the Production team to ensure each department stays on schedule and deadlines are met
    • Track the Production’s progress against the schedule, and collaborate with the Supervisors to reassign work as needed to meet deadlines
    • Update daily reports to reflect progress and/or flag concerns
    • Be the point of contact and tracker for your assigned department(s)
    • Work with Production Manager to schedule the departments in order to meet deadlines
    • Read and understand the production schedule
    • Check artist progress daily, ensuring upcoming tasks are ready to start and tasks in progress are on track
    • Participate in production meetings and readily modify, respond to and integrate changes as requested by the Producer and Production Manager
    • Facilitate an atmosphere in which concise, accurate information flows smoothly between departments in a timely manner
    • Organize and motivate the team to accomplish tasks according to the defined timeline
    • Be aware of what is happening on the production floor at all times and identify obstacles to the Production Manager
    • Anticipate, communicate, and troubleshoot any issues with assistance from key stakeholders
    • Effectively listen to, understand, and follow directions
    • Carry out duties in a professional and positive manner
    • Effectively communicate priorities, issues, and pertinent production info to crew
    • Liaise with other departments to resolve any issues that may arise 
    • Track crew absences/sick days and informing Production & HR
    • Assist the crew in troubleshooting technical issues and liaising with I.T. to communicate problems
    • Assist and complete any other production-related assignments as they arise


    You will be a great fit on our team if you have…

    • 1-2 year previous experience as a Production Coordinator
    • Experience working on episodic production preferred
    • Experience working on a 3D animation production an asset
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel such as basic formulas, formatting spreadsheets into presentable formats, exporting data from Excel to other formats, linking workbooks, sorting data for analysis, copying and pasting data sets between workbooks, and a strong ability to create and interpret reports
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Ability to proactively anticipate the needs of production
    • Great team player
    • Highly organized with great attention to detail
    • Able to prioritize and manage time efficiently
    • Able to work alone and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks and deadline pressures
    • Must be open to direction and able to embrace change
    • Production Management Software experience, particularly in Shotgun is an asset
